“BARUTDAN” POWDER FLASK — A very fine and unusually decorative Indian gunpowder flask, probably dating to the mid-19th century.

The body is crafted of wood and richly inlaid with numerous sculpted mother-of-pearl and white material elements, creating an intricate and visually striking surface. It is fitted with two wrought-iron eyelets and suspension rings for carrying. The spout is mounted with a threaded brass fitting and secured by a finely carved white material stopper.

Condition: Very good overall. One side — lacking the original mother-of-pearl inlay — shows a substantial historical repair, with later-added white material inserts and red putty visible along the edges.

Persian Rifle, Early 19th Century

An elegant and finely crafted Persian long gun, representative of early 19th-century Persian arms workmanship.

The wooden stock is richly decorated with applied silver plaques, finely worked in the form of stylised animals, including fish, ducks, a stag, a wolf, and a monkey. This lively animal ornament reflects the decorative imagination and refined metalwork tradition of Persian arms.

The barrel is forged from twisted Damascus steel, showing a fine patterned surface. It is secured by a series of carved silver openwork barrel bands with cut-through detailing, serving both a practical and decorative function.

The rifle is preserved in remarkable condition and stands out for the quality and completeness of its decoration. A rare and highly desirable collector’s piece.

A very rare and beautifully decorated small child’s hunting gun, originally a flintlock and later converted to percussion. The barrel is of oriental Damascus steel, finely chased and richly damascened with gold and silver, and bears along the top an oriental inscription in gold. Barrel length: 33 cm; caliber: 14 mm. The breech is added and fitted with a percussion nipple. The lockplate is engraved with delicate foliage and a bird motif. The iron fittings are cut and plain, providing a subtle contrast to the ornate barrel. The stock is made of walnut, with a cheekpiece; the grip is finely checkered and terminates in a carved bust of a bearded man. Overall length: 75 cm. Lenght of the barrel: 33 cm.

An Exceptional American drilling hunting combination percussion rifle/shotgun. Two rifled barrels and one shotgun, what is a rare variation. Made by US gunsmith Solomon Silknitter, only a handfull of this gunsmith guns are known. One of a kind firearms, this gun was presented to A.B. Hall in 1878, already after the gunsmith’s death. Beautiful wood pattern on the stock. Silver incrustation in the form of the eagle with the owner’s name, the owner’s monogram is also present on the patchbox.
Condition is fine, mechanics are mostly working but should be checked by a gunsmith because there is some hammer play. Both loading stocks are present.

The blade is made by F. Fichte, Solingen, and is richly decorated with etchings on both sides. An owner’s initial, the letter “A,” is engraved on the upper mount of the scabbard. Some traces of use.

A large Russian hunting dagger in the form of a yataghan, produced by the Zlatoust Arms Factory in 1875.

The spine of the blade bears the etched inscription “Златоусть 1875 года”. Both sides of the blade are richly decorated for approximately half their length with etched hunting scenes, framed by foliate ornament. The etched decoration is finished with gilding and bluing.

The scabbard is covered in brown velvet. The throat and chape are decorated with etched ornament, also enhanced with bluing and gilding.

An impressive and unusually large example of Zlatoust decorative arms production of the late Imperial period.

A fine Russian Oriental kindjal-type dagger with a broad double-edged steel blade and dark grip set with decorative metal studs. The black leather-covered scabbard is mounted with silver fittings, richly decorated with engraved floral ornament, niello-style details, and a gilded suspension band with geometric decoration. The silver mounts bear St. Petersburg marks.
