A very rare Russian art nouveau style silver mounted and porcelain vase by AUGUSTE DELAHERCHE (french (1857 – 1940). Makers mark by Imperial Court supplier Bolin firm. Moscow, 1908-1917. Height: 31 cm. Auguste Delaherche was a French ceramicist, who was a leading figure in French art pottery through the Art Nouveau period. His work came to the notice of other potters at the exhibition held by the Union Centrale des Arts Decoratifs in 1887, and then won prizes at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1889. He won gold medals at both, and the Exposition Universelle of 1900, again in Paris. A very similar vase by Bolin and Delaherche was sold by Shapiro auction on May 18, 2013. Lot 278.
