Estimate: 1000-1200€
Rare WW1 Austrian 1850/1871 Model Naval Officer’s Sword. A fine and rare Austrian Naval Officer’s sword, Model 1850/1871, dating to the World War I period. This elegant regulation pattern features a slightly curved, single-edged blade with etched panels of naval trophies and floral scrolls, typical of Austro-Hungarian naval officer weapons of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The gilded brass hilt is finely cast with a fouled anchor within a laurel wreath on the guard, surmounted by the Imperial crown. The sharkskin grip, bound with twisted brass wire, remains in very good condition. The sword retains its original leather scabbard with two suspension rings, showing only light age patina.
