Russian Officer’s Shashka, Model 1881

Russian officer’s shashka with an etched blade, decorated with floral motifs, military trophies, and a large double-headed eagle. The blade was produced by Bleckmann, Solingen, and bears the distributor’s mark of Skosyrev.

The grip remains in good condition. The blade shows areas of oxidation. Scabbard missing.

A late 19th–early 20th Century Ottoman Shamshir / Kilij Sword Sabre

Blade made in Solingen for J. Nikitits Erben, Constantinople, an arms distributor company in Istanbul, Ottoman Empire. Richly decorated with etchings on both sides. The crossguard is made of brass. The hilt slabs are made of wood.

19th Century Persian Khanjar with Wootz Blade
A fine 19th-century Persian khanjar with an impressive Wootz steel blade, showing a clear watered pattern. The blade is richly decorated with gold inlay, including an Arabic inscription.
The gilded hilt gives the weapon an elegant and refined appearance. The original leather-covered scabbard is fitted with finely worked silver mounts, adding to the quality and completeness of the piece.
Very good overall condition, with wear consistent with age.

A large Russian hunting dagger in the form of a yataghan, produced by the Zlatoust Arms Factory in 1875.

The spine of the blade bears the etched inscription “Златоусть 1875 года”. Both sides of the blade are richly decorated for approximately half their length with etched hunting scenes, framed by foliate ornament. The etched decoration is finished with gilding and bluing.

The scabbard is covered in brown velvet. The throat and chape are decorated with etched ornament, also enhanced with bluing and gilding.

An impressive and unusually large example of Zlatoust decorative arms production of the late Imperial period.

Steel, wood or horn, leather, silver mounts with niello and gilded decoration.
A fine Russian Oriental kindjal-type dagger with a broad double-edged steel blade and dark grip set with decorative metal studs. The black leather-covered scabbard is mounted with silver fittings, richly decorated with engraved floral ornament, niello-style details, and a gilded suspension band with geometric decoration. The silver mounts bear St. Petersburg marks.

Armenian Caucasian Kindjal (Kinjal) Dagger, Early 20th Century
Attributed to the Kodzhoyants Workshop, Vladikavkaz

Small Caucasian kindjal dagger bearing a struck Cyrillic maker’s mark on the blade reading «З.КОДЖОЯНЦЪ». The hilt and scabbard are made of silver, decorated with niello and engraving.

The Kodzhoyants workshop, founded by an ethnic Armenian maker in Vladikavkaz (Terek region), was among the most noted producers of Caucasian edged weapons in the late 19th – early 20th century.

A rare collector’s piece.

A rare Caucasian Cossack kindjal dagger, Shusha, Elisavetpol Province, Russian Empire, late 19th century, circa 1880s -1900s.

The hilt and scabbard mounts are made of melchior, decorated in the characteristic style associated with Shusha workshops in the Caucasus. The double-edged blade has a central fuller and a strong fighting form typical of Caucasian kindjals of the period.

A fine example of a late Imperial Russian Caucasian dagger, combining traditional Cossack and Caucasian form with regional Shusha decorative work.

The single-edged blade features a central fuller and remains decorated with etched floral and geometric ornamentation, partly preserved despite visible age patina. The decorative etching reflects the characteristic artistic motifs of late Imperial Russia.

The dagger retains its scabbard with engraved metal fittings, enriched with floral designs and fine silver inlays, Zlatoust craftsmanship.
