Russian shashka, with Monogram of the Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich Romanov model 1881. Blade was ordered by J.E.Bleckmann Solingen. Produced by Alexander Chelpanov, Sankt Petersburg. Blade with monogram of Alexandr 3. very nice and detailed work. The sword came from Hessen, Germany from heiress of Romanovs family. Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich of Russia (St. Petersburg 14 January 1850 (4 January O.S.) €“ Paris, 14 November 1908) was the sixth child and the fourth son of Alexander II of Russia and his first wife Maria Alexandrovna (Marie of Hesse). Destined to a naval career, Alexei Alexandrovich started his military training at the age of 7. By the age of 20 he had been appointed lieutenant of the Russian Imperial Navy and had visited all European military ports of Russia. In 1871 he was sent as a goodwill ambassador to the United States and Japan.
In 1883 he was appointed general admiral. He made a big contribution to re-equipping the Russian navy with new ships and in modernizing the naval ports. He was blamed for the Russian loss to the Japanese in the Battle of Tsushima. In 1905, he was relieved of his command. He died in Paris in 1908. Total length: 93,5 cm.Starting price: €25,000

Vladimir Stenberg (1899 – 1982) – a prominent Soviet graphic artist and constructivist. In 1919 Vladimir Stenberg alongside with his brother Georgii Stenberg and their comrades founds the OBMOKhU (Society of Young Artists). In 1920 he joins the INKhUK (Institute of Artistic Culture) – a theoretical and research based artistic organisation, where in November 1920 he begins working in a newly formed “Constructivist Group” (Aleksei Gan, Karlis Johansons, Konstantin Medunetsky, Alexander Rodchenko, Varvara Stepanova and brothers Stenberg). Members of this group experiment with composition and colours to achieve the transition “From the Image to Constructionâ€. In this period (1920-1921) brothers Stenberg and Konstantin Medunetsky begin their research by creating the “colour-constructionsâ€:

The brothers Stenbergs’ and Konstantin Medunetsky’s “colour-constructions†were exhibited at the famous Second OBMOKhU Exhibition in May-June 1921. Medunetsky’s “Colour-construction № 7†can be seen on the photographs of the exhibition taken by Rodchenko.
The key aspect of these experimental “colour-constructions†is the dynamic combination of a line with colour quasi-flat surfaces. Two presented paintings are very remarkable because they share the same subject with a different degree of abstraction. The shapes of workers on the first painting generate volume and give some context to the first painting, whereas the second painting without any contextual shapes is almost entirely flat and abstract. The difference between two paintings perfectly illustrates the constructivist idea of the transition “From the Image to Constructionâ€.

This table photo frame is adorned with beautifully en-plein enamel images of stylized water lilies on curved stems, executed with remarkable virtuosity and artistic skill. Water plant motifs were especially popular in Art Nouveau art, and this frame showcases an elegant and delicate composition of these floral designs. The frame’s painted decor exudes refined artistry, with graceful floral motifs and a delicate enamel palette, epitomizing the “Bolin style”.
Konstantin Linke, the son of Prussian Eduard Linke and Maria Aksakova, was a famous silversmith and engraver. Maria owned her own workshop (1866–1894), and Konstantin took over the family business, becoming a master silversmith in Moscow. He also worked for the renowned “Bolin” firm, where he started in 1903. By 1900, he was a second-guild merchant, and he managed the silver workshop at the firm’s Moscow branch located in the Kruzovskoi house on Kuznetsky Most.
“Bolin” is one of the leading jewelry firms in the Russian Empire, dating back to 1796 and continuing today in Stockholm since 1916. It was granted the prestigious title of “Supplier to the Imperial Court”. The Moscow branch of Bolin was led by Vasily Andreyevich Bolin from 1888, who invited French artists to design pieces that combines classic styles with elements of Art Nouveau.Starting price: 2000€

Silver-plated brass
Height: 43.5 cmA rare samovar crafted by the Buch Brothers manufactory, operating in Warsaw during the period when Poland was part of the Russian Empire. This example, distinguished by its sculptural form and intricate metalwork, represents one of the few surviving samovars attributed to this renowned maker.
The body is pear-shaped with narrow vertical fluting. The domed lid, decorated with alternating wide and narrow ovals, merges seamlessly with a conical, pierced chimney. The spout and supports are richly ornamented with vegetal motifs, while the handles — composed of paired, upward-curving elements — imitate stylized plant stems. The baluster-shaped base rests on four circular feet, giving the piece a graceful silhouette.
The Gebrüder Buch firm was first mentioned in 1809, when it established a workshop in St. Petersburg for the production of buttons and metal decorations for military uniforms. Its later owners, Agaton Buch and Karl Ludwig Mauss, were awarded a gold medal by Emperor Alexander II in 1865 for “Diligence and Artistry.”
In the 1860s, Buch and Mauss purchased the Henniger silver-plating factory located at Żelazna Street No. 1146 in Warsaw, marking a new chapter in the company’s history. Their products soon gained recognition for exceptional quality and design. At the Moscow Polytechnic Exhibition of 1872, the Buch Brothers received a gold medal and the right to use the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle emblem on their wares — a privilege granted only to distinguished suppliers.
In 1882, the company merged with its long-time trade partner Norblin & Co., forming the Joint Stock Company of Metal Factories Norblin, Buch Brothers & T. Werner (N.B.W.), one of the most important metallurgical enterprises in Warsaw

Marks: stamped in Cyrillic “FABERGÉ”; workmaster’s mark “MP”, St Petersburg assay gold marks. A refined tabletop photograph frame composed as a dark-green nephrite tablet, cut to a compact polygonal outline. At the centre is a circular photo window encircled by a narrow gold bezel. The inner rim is enriched with a continuous collar of small diamonds.
The ornament is asymmetrical and distinctly classical in taste. On one sides, a stylised foliate scroll in low relief is accented with a cabochon ruby. Mikhail Perchin (1860–1903) was among the most significant Fabergé workmasters in St Petersburg. Having received his master’s qualification in 1884, he opened his own workshop under Carl Fabergé’s patronage in 1888. Perchin’s atelier produced a wide range of presentation gifts and refined objets de fantaisie, and it was responsible for many of the most celebrated Imperial Easter Eggs. After his death, the workshop’s tradition was continued by Henrik Wigström.
