Estimate: 4000-5000€An Exceptional American drilling hunting combination percussion rifle/shotgun. Two rifled barrels and one shotgun, what is a rare variation. Made by US gunsmith Solomon Silknitter, only a handfull of this gunsmith guns are known. One of a kind firearms, this gun was presented to A.B. Hall in 1878, already after the gunsmith’s death. Beautiful wood pattern on the stock. Silver incrustation in the form of the eagle with the owner’s name, the owner’s monogram is also present on the patchbox.
Condition is fine, mechanics are mostly working but should be checked by a gunsmith because there is some hammer play. Both loading stocks are present.
Total length: 117 cm. Dimensions of a barrel: 77.5 cm. Two different calibers.

Fine Spanish flintlock sporting gun with a browned two-stage barrel, chiselled and richly gold inlaid. The barrel bears a gold-inlaid signature and date “1759”, with gold-lined maker’s stamps. The lock plate and trigger guard are engraved and marked.
Francisco López, a pupil of Juan Santos, was appointed gunsmith to King Charles III of Spain in 1761. His work is represented in major collections, including the Real Armería and the Wallace Collection. He retired in 1773, training several notable disciples.
A comparable example was sold by Bonhams in 2013 for £8,750.
