A very rare and beautifully decorated small child’s hunting gun, originally a flintlock and later converted to percussion. The barrel is of oriental Damascus steel, finely chased and richly damascened with gold and silver, and bears along the top an oriental inscription in gold. Barrel length: 33 cm; caliber: 14 mm. The breech is added and fitted with a percussion nipple. The lockplate is engraved with delicate foliage and a bird motif. The iron fittings are cut and plain, providing a subtle contrast to the ornate barrel. The stock is made of walnut, with a cheekpiece; the grip is finely checkered and terminates in a carved bust of a bearded man. Overall length: 75 cm. Lenght of the barrel: 33 cm.
