Model 1865 Russian infantry officer’s sword. In 1865, the saber was given to all generals and officers who previously wore a model 1841 officer’s Dragoon saber with an infantry lanyard. Model 1881/1909 Russian Dragoon officer shashka, with St. Anna award. Blade forged steel, with small bend. On the heel of the blade there is a mark Shaf Sons of St. Petersburg and the state emblem of the Russian Empire, two-headed eagle. On the other side of the blade, also on the heel there is a mark Solingen. On the blade there is an inscription made in the technique of gold in steel “N. N. Karpov – 1st Battalion”. In the upper part of the handle pinned the badge of the order of Anna of 4 degrees, on the bow the inscription For Bravery. The upper part of the handle has a monogram of Emperor Nikolay II , in the reign of which the officer received his first rank. The scabbard is made of wood with the skin of the mouth, with the nut and ferrule from brass. The blade of the famous St. Petersburg firm “Shaf Sons”, with the gift inscription notches in gold. Total length, blade length, blade width: 97 x 74.5 x 3.2 cm.
