Orgalite, oil. “Sergey Petrovich Shablavin, born on April 7, 1944, in Kirsanov (Tambov region), graduated from the Moscow Institute of Engineering and Physics in 1967 and studied at the Correspondence People’s University of Arts from 1979 to 1981. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 1977. Shablavin lives and works in Moscow and Cologne. His works are held in collections such as the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Museum of Contemporary Art ART4.RU (Moscow), Bochum Museum (Germany), Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven (Germany), Bayer Museum (Leverkusen), and the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum (USA), among others.
