Period: Early 19th century (Napoleonic Era)An extremely rare and historically important French regulation dagger of the Mameluke Guard Company, Model 1802 (Model XI), introduced under the Consulate and carried by members of the Mameluke Squadron of the Imperial Guard (Escadron des Mamelouks de la Garde Impériale).
The dagger features a curved single-edged blade of finely forged steel with a narrow fuller and a pronounced point. The hilt is composed of a gilded brass crossguard with stylized quillons, wooden grip plates secured by rivets, and a decorative domed pommel in oriental style. The design reflects the exotic aesthetics of Napoleon’s Egyptian campaign, blending Ottoman and French elements typical of Mameluke armament.

A trial model sword by WuK company, that was accepted in to Weimar republic army trial in 1929, but the project was discontinued following by the WuK becoming bankrupt. Only a handful was made. The design is unique for German swords incorporating some features from Russian and Italian models. Very heavy blade. Clear Weimar period acceptance markings on many parts. Very well-done and unique piece.
