Stamp on the back: This icon produced in Mstera icon painting school under control of Committee of Russian icon painting patronage. Committee was founded in 1901 by the Emperior Nikolay II decree with Count S.D. Sheremetiev at the head. Committee was managed by the academic N.P. Kondakov. Committee had to resume icon painting in traditional Russian artistic regions, such as Mstera, Palekh, Kholuy and Borisovsk with founding of the special schools.
