Desk clock with a cat in art-nouveau style. Bronze, marble, patina. France. Sculptor – Charles Valton. He was born in Po, France on 26 Sep 1851. Was an author of more than 70 models, exhibited on the Paris Salons from 1868 to 1914 and was awarded several medals. In 1883 he became a sculptor professor of Jermain Pillon school. In 1906 he was awarded by the cross of the Legion of honor. Valton mostly known as a author of different cats models and material combinations. For example, He imitate snow using the white marble or create the bases for the animals with a granite plate. This clocks exhibits on the Universe exhibition in Paris in 1900. Size: 50cm*33*31,5 cm.
