The wooden haft is mounted with an engraved dedicatory plaque recording the award for long and diligent service, dated 16 November 1928. It is further decorated with an enamel badge marked 1803–1928, commemorating the jubilee of the city’s fire service and adding strong official and ceremonial character to the piece.
