The hinged cover finely engraved with inscriptions and ornaments imitating a tobacco package, promoting the Rostov-on-Don tobacco company “Asmolov & Co”, one of the leading Russian tobacco traders of the time. A finely crafted Russian glass holder with cut-glass insert, richly mounted in gilded brass. The lid, pierced cover is decorated with floral and geometric cutouts and topped with a spherical finial. A braided handle in the shape of a snake completes the design.
